Rich has been a part of the pageantry arts since 1992. He was a performer with the award winning South Brunswick High School (NJ) Marching Band and Colorguard, winning the 1998 WGI SO Bronze Medal. Upon graduating, he also won the 2000 WGI IW Silver Medal with St Ann’s World, and the 2005 WGI IW Bronze Medal with Blessed Sacrament World.
He was the director of the Dance Company at Walpole High School for over 15 years, creating over 200 original dances, as well as the director of the award winning King Philip Colorguard, and was inducted into the NNJPAC Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2016 he collaborated with David Byrne, Adam Horowitz from the Beastie Boys, and Merrill Garbus from Tune-Yards to create original soundtracks for his show designs with Somerville HS and Emanon in Contemporary Color.
His show design, staging, and choreography has been featured in various scholastic and independent programs around the country including the Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps, the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps, King Philip HS (MA), Fusion Winterguard (NJ), South Brunswick HS (NJ), Miamisburg HS (OH), Sacred Heart Winterguard (MA), Washington HS (MO), Somerville HS (NJ) - 2012 WGI SA Champions & 2015 WGI SO Champions, & St Ann’s IA (MA) - 2019 WGI IA Silver Medalists and 2024 WGI IA Finalists.
He is currently the show designer for Bethel (CT) winterguard and the show concept and soundtrack designer for WGI's longest running colorguard, Blessed Sacrament World (MA) where he has been since 2008.
